The benchmark equity indices open positive with Sensex opened at 39,072.54 rising 143.80 points, or 0.37%, while the 50-share Nifty started up 33.50 points, or 0.29%, at 11,705.65.

Indian markets are expected to remain subdued ahead of Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) scheduled for the next two days. Investors cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate meeting capped Asian stocks on Tuesday, while crude oil prices retreated as global growth worries overshadowed supply concerns stemming from recent Middle East tensions.
