benchmarks Sen sex and Nifty extended their fall into the second
straight week following sustained outflow of foreign portfolio investors’ money
amid geopolitical tensions and earnings disappointments. The 30-share Sen sex declined 1.03 per cent to 38,337
for the week ended July 19 from 38,736 on July 12. Likewise, the 50-share Nifty
declined 1.15 per cent to 11,419 from 11,552. Jagannadham Thunuguntla, Senior VP and Head of
Research (Wealth), Centrum Broking said, “India ..“Indian markets are in
capitulation mode, as there has been a dearth of good news. Back-to-back debt
defaults, high-tax regime, weak earnings and a fragile economy are not helping
the already delicate sentiment. With the crisis deepening and widening, markets
are eagerly awaiting to see if policymakers can talk up the market.” Foreign portfolio investors sold shares worth Rs 2,758
crore in last five sessions, while domestic institutional investors poured in
